1,200 Guests Dressed in White Gathered in Vilnius

Diner en Blanc - Vilnius took place on Friday, August 21, at Vincas Kudirka Square, where 1,200 guests gathered, all elegantly dressed in white.

“This year’s theme was ‘La Belle Époque,’ an important period in French history: the Impressionists and the most famous picnic in art history, Édouard Manet’s Luncheon on the Grass; World’s Fairs and the Eiffel Tower; Art Nouveau; cabarets such as the Moulin Rouge; and the Lumière brothers’ first steps into cinema. Tonight, Vilnius feels very French and, if we looked closely enough, we might almost imagine that the Seine itself is flowing beneath the White Bridge,” said Lucie Stepanyan, Ambassador of France to Lithuania, at the event.

The evening’s entertainment featured a performance by artist Paulina Paukštaitytė. She also has a personal connection to Diner en Blanc: having previously attended the dinner herself, she returned this year as a performer.
